Dream Yoga Retreat
Saturday 04 September 2010 -
Sunday 05 September 2010 |
This retreat course provides instructions on how to transform the ordinary dream state into spiritual practice. It starts with practices focusing on the illusory nature of perceptions and beliefs about ourselves and the world. In the next step, the course discusses ways to become lucid in dreams. It teaches how to use lucid dreaming to deepen our daytime meditation practice and come closer to realizing the ultimate nature of reality. Nigh time dream yoga is closely linked to daytime practices calming the mind and exploring deeper aspects of our consciousness.
Saturday will be spent both in practice and study - more extensive instructions will be provided. Sunday is intended as a focused retreat day, spent mostly in intensive meditation and yoga practice.
We recommend students to wear comfortable clothing. Please bring mats and cushions.
Times:9 am. to 6 pm. both days
Costs:£85 to £125 depending on accommodation |

Korean Son or Zen Retreat
Wednesday 08 September 2010 -
Tuesday 14 September 2010 |
This is a rare opportunity to undertake an intensive retreat led by Master Jisu Sunim, an exceptional Son meditation master from Korea (Son is the Korean term for Zen or Chan).
The retreats are based on the Hwadu meditation method. Jisu Sunim speaks excellent English and teaches the Dharma in a fresh, original and deeply inspiring way.
The retreat is conducted in silence, rising at 4 am, beginning with a morning service, 108 prostrations and then meditation periods throughout the day. Sitting meditation is interspersed with walking meditation, work periods, vegetarian meals, inspiring talks and instruction, and walk and rest periods, following a schedule that reflects a formal Son Retreat in a Korean Monastery. The day ends at 10 pm.
This is an intensive retreat requiring commitment and determination. It is ideally suited to those who have prior experience of similar retreats, and those who wish to deepen their practice.
Times:6.00pm 8th Sept. to midday 14th Sept.
Costs:£340 |

Gentle Yoga in south west France
Sunday 19 September 2010 -
Sunday 26 September 2010 |
Join me in one of the most beautiful and unspoilt regions of south-west France for seven nights and six days of quiet relaxation and gentle hatha yoga.
Les Aleis is a really special retreat venue set in eight acres of beautiful countryside with a river running through it – and its own swimming pool. A yoga studio and gîtes have been created in the stone barns of an old farm.
We will start each day with yoga, followed by a hearty brunch. All meals will be organic, vegetarian food, home-cooked by our host, Lucy. The middle of the day will be free for rest, reading, a swim in the pool, walk or cycle ride. There will also be optional extras, such as trips to one of the medieval towns in the region, horse riding, canoeing, pottery or massage.
In the early evening before dinner there will be a further yoga session – perhaps in the semi-open-air studio, which overlooks the herb garden, pasture and magnificent oak trees.
Times:Residential 7-night retreat
Costs:From £370 |

Spend a day learning, laughing and growing…
• Discover the ancient secrets of the mind, revealed to us by contemporary neuroscience.
• See how changing your brain changes your mind (live demonstrations of the brain in action).
• Explore what drives different brain states. Learn why some people have no sense of direction, find maths impossible or get depressed and why some people remain happy and positive in the face of disaster.
• Take part in guided meditations that lead you through to deeper states of being and strengthen the bridge between the conscious and unconscious mind.
The workshop is hosted by Laura Etienne and Melissa Foks who between them have over two decades of experience of working with the brain and guiding people toward their full potential.
No prior scientific knowledge required. Suitable for novices and experienced meditators alike. Free take-home pack.
